What You're Signing Up For

Everyone comes back from Bali with four hundred photos and none with both of them in it. A photographer for the day fixes that, and because the car is already part of the price, you can shoot three or four locations instead of arguing with a taxi driver between each one.

You pick the places. Tegallalang before the crowd, a waterfall, a temple gate, the beach at golden hour, or the terraces at Jatiluwih if you want the whole day out. The photographer works around the light, which is why the schedule looks the way it does.

The problem with photographing your own trip is that one of you is always behind the camera, and the pictures you end up with are of places rather than of people in them.

Itinerary

The Trip, Stop By Stop

Timings are typical, not fixed. Your guide reshapes the day around your pace and the conditions.

  1. Early hotel pickup

    Canggu, Seminyak, Kuta, Jimbaran, Sanur, Ubud

    Around 05:30 for sunrise locations. Confirmed by message the evening before, along with the plan.

  2. First location

    Sunrise, usually the terraces or a temple, while the light is soft and the site is empty.

  3. Second location

    Mid-morning. A waterfall or a gate, depending on what you picked.

  4. Long break

    Lunch and a rest through the flat midday light. The car stays with you.

  5. Golden hour

    The last location, timed so you finish as the sun drops.

  6. Back to your hotel

    Same car, same driver. Edited images follow within seven days.

Who This Trip Isn’t For

We would rather talk you out of the wrong trip than take your money for it. If any of these apply, message us and we’ll suggest something that fits better.

Anyone uncomfortable being photographed

Eight hours in front of a lens is a long time if you are not enjoying it.

Anyone wanting ten locations

Three or four is realistic. More and you spend the day in the car.

Anyone needing the images tomorrow

Editing takes up to seven days. Tell us if the deadline is tight and we will say whether it is possible.

Come prepared

What To Bring

Two or three outfits

Different locations want different looks, and changing is what makes a gallery look like a day rather than an hour.

A bag for the changes

You will be changing in a car, a café toilet or behind a wall. A soft bag makes that a lot less grim.

Whatever you need to look yourself

Hairbrush, powder, a mirror. It is a long day in humidity and the photographer will not carry these.

Comfortable shoes between locations

Wear what you like in front of the camera and something sensible for the walking in between.

How many photos do we get?

At least forty fully edited images, delivered by download link within seven days. You also get the unedited selects if you ask.

Who owns the pictures?

You do, for any personal use. We will ask separately if we would like to use one on this site, and you are free to say no.

What if it rains?

Bali rain is usually short. The photographer works around it and wet stone photographs beautifully. If a whole day is washed out we move it or refund it.

Can we choose the locations?

Yes, that is the point of having the car. Three or four is realistic in a day; more than that and you spend the day in traffic instead of in front of a camera.

Is this suitable for a proposal?

Yes, and it is worth telling us in advance so it is planned rather than improvised. Say so on WhatsApp and we will keep it off any shared messages.
